China bans poultry from Turkey on bird flu reports

 

 

China has recently imposed a ban on the import of poultry from Turkey to guard the country against bird flu which has been reported in Turkey recently.

 

Turkey reported a bird flu outbreak on March 18 to the World Organization for Animal Health, according to the MOA and the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine.

 

China said that all poultry products from Turkey will be returned or destroyed.

 

Around 1,000 chickens have been culled in Turkey after authorities detected the bird flu virus in the northwestern province of Edirne.
