China, South Africa to strengthen agricultural ties

China and South Africa are poised to strengthen agricultural ties especially on agro processing with focus on cattle farming and beef benification, biotechnology and fish farming.

North West premier Edna Molewa will visit China this week to promote trade particularly with the Henan province.

Henan is more or less the same size as the North West, with a population estimated at 100 million, reported to be the most populous province in China.

Henan boasts highly developed agricultural and industrial sectors. Its agricultural products of wheat, cotton, tobacco, sesame and peanut are among the most important in the whole country.

The South African regions foresee positive spin-offs for this particular venture.
