BFFEA urge gov't to take steps to boost shrimp export

The Bangladesh Frozen Foods Exporters Association (BFFEA) has urged the government to take steps to boost the country's shrimp export sector which was hit by the global economic downturn.

The steps urged included interest free block loan facility, enhancement of cash incentive and bail-out facility.

BFFEA leaders called upon the government at its 24th Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at a local hotel with Kazi Belayet Hossain, outgoing president of BFFEA in the chair.

BFFEA newly elected President Musa Meah underscored the need for combined efforts by all stakeholders including exporters, farmers, feed mills operators and financial institutions to uphold the image of the country's shrimp sector locally and abroad.
