Wendy's to open over 60 restaurants in Mexico
Wendy's International Inc announced it would open more than 60 new restaurants in Mexico's Monterrey and Mexico City.
Under development contracts signed by the Ohio-based burger chain, two new franchises will build and operate more than 60 restaurants over the next seven years.
The first one is expected to be open before the year ends.
Wenco-Mexico SA, Wendy's existing franchisee, currently controls 12 locations in the northern Mexico cities of Ciudad Juarez and Chihuahua.
The new Mexico City franchise is an associate of Corpogas SC, a gasoline and convenience store giant, while the new Monterrey franchise is chain-restaurant operator Grupo Refran.
Wendy's operates more than 190 restaurants in the Latin America/Caribbean region in 14 markets.
