Australian PM pledges more talks before wheat decision
 

Australian Prime Minister John Howard and the Australia's agriculture committee will determine the fate of the single wheat export desk in 2007 as it will hold a series of discussions on the government' support for the single desk from wheat farmers and National Party of Australia.

Agriculture Minister Peter McGauran is issuing export permits while the fate of the single desk, which has been operated by Australian Wheat Board, is decided. A national survey has revealed that 82 per cent supported the monopoly system.
