Russia to import 510,000 tonnes of soy during current season
 

 

Russia is expected to import 510 thousand tonnes of soy towards the end of the current season.

 

In February 2013, soy imports to Russia totalled 34.5 thousand tonnes, an increase of 12% compared with the volume of imports in January 2013. Almost all soy volume were supplied from the US and Ukraine.

 

During the marketing year of September-February 2012/13, Russia imported 291 thousand tonnes of soy.

 

Taking into account the current rates of oilseed imports, analysts from APK-Inform Agency estimated the forecast of the indicator in the current marketing year at 0.8 million tonnes.

 

Thus, in March-August of 2013, soy imports are expected to reach 510 thousand tonnes.
