Canadian food agency finds E. coli in Cargill beef plant

Following the detection of E. coli at the Cargill beef processing plant in High River earlier this week, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is investigating on the details of the case.
A recall has not been put into place because the CFIA says none of the affected meat left the facility.
Cargill management says the E. coli was found in a portion of beef trim and no ground beef products were involved.
The company says it recently invested US$40 million in food safety and is cooperating with the CFIA in its investigation.
