USDA indicates 13.1 billion bushels corn, 3.3 billion soy
US producers could harvest a record-large 13.1 billion bushels of corn and a near-record 3.3 billion bushels of soy, USDA data has indicated.
The plantings report also implied farmers could harvest 1.95 billion bushels of wheat this year.
The projections are based on USDA's survey of planting intentions and take into account average pre-harvest abandonment and trend yields used by USDA in its February projections.
USDA will make its first official projection of crop production in May using figures from the plantings report.
