South Africa and China sign seafood deal
South Africa and China signed 2.3 billion-rand (US$315.3 million) worth of deals that will result in South Africa supplying mohair, fish and abalone to its biggest trading partner.
A total of 26 companies were involved in yesterday's accords, including producers of wine, copper, manganese, granite blocks, ferrochrome and lobster, according to reports.
Chinese trade with South Africa totalled US$16 billion last year, according to Jia Qinglin, chairman of the national committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.
