US state form new soy group
Nebraska has formed a new soy group - the Nebraska Soybean Federation - which is affiliated with the US Soybean Federation (USSF).
USSF is the new producer group that was formed as a result of the dispute between the American Soybean Association (ASA) and the United Soybean Board.
Greg Anderson of Newman Grove, in Nebraska, a former chair of the United Soybean Board, will serve as president of the new Nebraska Soybean Federation.
Anderson has been openly critical of ASA for requesting a federal investigation of the national soy checkoff program.
USSF has elected Missouri soybean farmer Warren Stemme of Missouri as its president.
USSF was created by soy farmers from Minnesota, Missouri and Mississippi.
