Black Sea states grain exports seen at 12 million tonnes

 

 

The three leading Black Sea region grain exporters, Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan, are likely to export 12 million tonnes of grain in March-June 2010, according to analysts on Tuesday (March 30).

 

Analysts said the volume would include 7.9 million tonnes of wheat, noting that the three countries had exported a total of 34 million tonnes of grain, including 22.6 million tonnes of wheat, in the first eight months of the 2009-10 season.

 

Ukraine, which had already sold abroad 17 million tonnes of grain, was likely to export 3.15 million tonnes by the season-end, including 1.29 million of wheat.

 

Russia could export 6.06 million tonnes of grain,  including 5.08 million tonnes of wheat, while Kazakhstan's grain export was likely to total 2.79 million tonnes, including 1.52 million tonnes of wheat.
