Vietnam attracts new technology from international players
The success of ILDEX Vietnam 2010 held on March 25-27, 2010 at the New Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC), Ho Chi Minh City, indicated that the country's livestock, dairy, meat processing and aquaculture continue to attract new technology and business solutions from international players.
This year, with the theme ''Bringing International Expertise to Satisfy Local Needs,'' more than 220 companies from 26 countries showcased their new technologies and latest innovations to provide business solutions for the industries which are likely to be fueled by the country's economic growth of more than 6.5% in 2010.
Ladda Mongkolchaivivat, general manager of NCC Exhibition Organizer (NEO) said during the opening ceremony that ''Vietnam has an extremely bright economic outlook and is already the key driver for regional economic growth. Vietnam's phenomenal growth translates into greater meat consumption among its people. This is indeed good news for the industries.''
Vietnam's promising future is seen to continuously attract international technology from leading companies worldwide. In previous editions, the show set a record of 112 exhibiting companies from 22 countries with 15,000 visitors.
For this year, the show features more than 200 leading companies with country pavilions from France, Singapore, Korea, China and Netherlands. The exhibition space increased by 1,000 square metres, making ILDEX Vietnam 2010 the largest international livestock trade show in the country.
Further, with heavy promotion campaign and full government support particularly from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD), NEO believes that ILDEX Vietnam will indeed attract a lot of targeted traders and buyers from over 46 cities and provinces surrounding Ho Chi Minh City.
In addition to new technology and business solutions on the exhibition floor, the series of seminar and conference was also another attraction. ILDEX Vietnam Aquaculture Conference 2010 for instance, is a dedicated conference for the country's aquaculture industry which has been growing rapidly over the past decade. It was highlighted that the industry has to look on issues such as sustainability. Thus the conference under the main theme ''The new dimension for aquaculture in Vietnam'' offers a perfect educational platform for Vietnamese aqua farmers and aquaculture professionals to upgrade their technical expertise and information to bring aquaculture to the next level.
All in all, the show was a success and was well supported by several parties including the Department of Livestock Production, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam, Ministry of Trade and Industry of Vietnam, Minh Vi Exhibition and Advertisement Services (VEAS) and VNU Exhibitions Europe.
