Kyowa Hakko USA raises its amino acid prices

Kyowa Hakko USA, Inc. has announced that as of Apr 1, 2007, prices of its specific line of L-amino acids would be raised by 10 percent.

The company produces amino acids at its four production facilities in the US, Japan, and China.

Amino acids are used in a wide variety of pharmaceutical and nutritional applications.

Chikakuni Kotani, president of Kyowa Hakko USA, Inc., said strong demand and increased value placed on Kyowa Hakko's amino acids by its customers, coupled with margin deterioration, has highlighted the need to ensure long-term product availability at acceptable returns.

Continued investments needed to keep pace with the growing demand for top quality ingredients justifies the upward price adjustments, Kotani added.
