Slovenia's Perutnina Ptuj manages EUR 5.6 million in profits for 2006

Slovenian poultry producer Perutnina Ptuj has announced 2006 group pre-tax profits of EUR 5.6 million.

The profit figure was unchanged from 2005, despite a 5.7 percent rise in sales.

The company said its results have been influenced by bird flu, which occurred in the country at the beginning of last year.

The rise in raw material prices also prevented further gains in profits. Group sales rose by 5.7 percent to EUR 165.7 million.

This year, the company has also begun construction of its EUR 15 million plant near Sarajevo in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
