Alpharma's animal health division show good results

 

 

Alpharma Inc reported on Mar 13 that its operating income and sales for its animal health business for the 2005 Q4 and full year have increased. The company also said the animal health results were a driving factor for good overall corporate results.

 

The company reported that for animal health for the quarter ended Dec 31, 2005, its operating income and sales reached US$21.1 million and US$91.2 million respectively. This compares with the operating income and sales of US$16.6 million and US$84.1 million respectively for 2004 Q4.

 

For animal health for the year, the company reported operating income and sales of US$66.3 million and US$325.1 million respectively, compared with US$24.8 million and US$314.6 million in 2004.

 

The company said animal health revenue growth was due to increased sales of livestock products, productivity programs and reduced unit costs.
