Vietnam's Q1 seafood exports likely up 11.7% on year
The government's General Statistics Office (GSO) said Wednesday (Mar 28) that Vietnam is estimated to have earned US$1.265 million from seafood export in the first quarter of this year, representing an on-year rise of 11.7%.
In March, the country's seafood exports are expected at US$490 million, up from US$422 million in February, the GSO said in a report.
During January-March, the Southeast Asian country has spent US$168 million on imports of aquatic materials, including US$54 million in February and US$65 million in March, the statistics showed.
Exports of seafood brought about US$6.23 billion to Vietnam last year. The country expects the exports to rise to US$6.5 billion this year.
