Mexico bans EU genetic imports
Mexico has followed the US and Uruguay in suspending the imports of livestock genetics from the EU, as part of precautionary measures against Schmallenberg transmission.
The Mexican Ministry of Agriculture has said that once more scientific evidence on Schmallenberg transmission has been determined, it will review the import ban.
The Spanish Livestock Association (FEGAS) has expressed disappointment in this decision.
