Cal-Maine Foods reports sales and income increase

Cal-Maine Foods reported that its net sales for Q3 of fiscal 2006 reached US$130.1 million compared with US$101 million for the same quarter of fiscal 2005.

The company also reported a net income of US$8 million for Q3 of fiscal 2006 compared with the US$2.4 million reached for the same quarter of fiscal 2005. 

Its net sales for the first nine months of fiscal 2006 were US$348.2 million, an increase over the US$293.8 million for the same period the previous year.

Pleased with the Q3 performance, Fred Adams, chairman and chief executive officer of Cal-Maine Foods said the results indicated a better egg market and reflected the management team's good work of controlling costs and servicing their customers.
