US beef exports down18%

 

 

From the 8% decrease in the previous week, US beef export sales continue to decline 18% of which the 13,300 tonnes shipment moves the four-week average down 6% and settles the 27-week average at 13,500 tonnes.

 

Leading purchasers went to Japan (3,300 tonnes), Mexico (3,200 tonnes), South Korea, (3,000 tonnes) and Hong Kong (2,400 tonnes).

 

After hitting a record high of 14,600 tonnes, US beef shipments were down 20% from the previous week. The 11,600 tonnes shipment dropped below the prior four-week average.

 

Shipments were primarily to Japan (3,100 tonnes), Hong Kong (2,400 tonnes), Mexico (2,000 tonnes), South Korea (1,800 tonnes) and Taiwan (800 tonnes).
