Vietnam seafood exports up 30.5% in Q1
 

 

Vietnam sees a rise of 30.5% in seafood exports, having earned US$1.142 trillion in the first three months of 2011, said the governmental General Statistics Office (GSO) on Friday (Mar 25).

 

Vietnam seafood exports are expected at US$450 million in the month of March, up from US$256 million revised for February, the GSO said.

 

The Southeast Asian country spent US$102 million on imports of aquatic materials in the first quarter of the year, statistics show.

 

Vietnam earned US$5 billion from seafood exports last year. The country expects the exports to rise to US$5.5 billion this year.
