China ships first corn cargo to Taiwan
China exported corn to Taiwan for the first time in four years due to the supply shortage in the island.
The shipment left the Dalian port on March 24 and will arrive at Kaohsiung by March 28.
The export was allowed under a special quota issued by China's State Council, Beijing based Cofco Ltd. said.
China halted corn exports from the end of last year in the face of local shortages.
Cofco is the only mainland company approved to export corn to Taiwan.
