ConAgra Q3 net income up 60 percent despite high energy prices
 

 

ConAgra Foods' fiscal third quarter net income climbed 60 percent to US$309.1 million from US$192.6 million year-on-year despite higher energy prices.

 

The Omaha, Nebraska-based packaged food company said on Thursday that sales for the quarter ended on February 24 increased 21 percent to US$3.5 billion from US$2.9 billion a year ago.

 

ConAgra expects fiscal 2008 earnings, excluding items, of $1.80 to $1.85 a share, and fiscal 2009 earnings, excluding items, of at least $1.55 a share.
