China keen on importing chicken from Brazil
China is expected to import chicken from Brazil in the coming months as some companies are showing interest for the Brazilian product, the Brazilian Meat Monitor said.
Companies such as Pizza Hut and KFC are keen on importing Brazilian chicken. China's demand for chicken is estimated to reach 100,000 tonnes.
Currently, around 22 Brazilian producers are licensed to export to China.
Although Brazil signed a sanitary protocol with China four years ago, no poultry has been exported as the country failed to answer China's request for certain investigations.
