China's imported milk prices to rise from 5 to 30 percent
Around six imported milk brands will raise prices this April in China, with increases to range from 5 to 30 percent, authorities reported.
Milk producers blamed the rise in prices to escalating raw materials cost such as skimmed milk powder and milk albumin, whose price has doubled.
However, China's domestic milk powder prices have not been affected yet, compared to foreign brands.
Domestic milk powder producers including Yili, Mengniu and Nanshan, all announced on March 25 that they have no plan to raise prices.
