Brazil's soy sales reach 51 percent of new crop
Soy farmers in Brazil have sold 51 percent of an estimated new crop or 58 million tonnes by March 23, up by 50 percent sold last week, private analysts Celeres said on Tuesday (March 27).
But it lags the 55 percent sold this week a year ago and a 5-year average of 54 percent sold.
In the centre-west, leading soy state Mato Grosso has sold 65 percent of its expected crop, up from 64 percent last week but was smaller as against 68 percent registered a year ago.
Sales in southern Brazil are still at an early stage with producers in No.2 soy state Parana selling 34 percent of their expected crop, up 1 point from last week but behind a year ago by 2 points, Celeres said.
