IPE/IFE selected for Buyer Programme

The International Poultry Expo/International Feed Expo has been selected to participate in the US Department of Commerce's 2008 International Buyer Programme.

Under the programme, the department's Commercial Service would recruit foreign buyer delegations through US embassies abroad and bring them to trade shows in the US to match them with American businesses exhibiting at the show.

The IBP provides US companies interested in exporting with an excellent opportunity to meet with potential sales representatives and partners in the convenience of the US, said US Commercial Service representative Kevin Haley, adding that US businesses need to think globally to expand their market share.

The IBP would be saving US firms valuable time and resources in meeting potential buyers, he said.

The IBP is executed in more than 70 countries representing America's major trading partners, and also in US embassies in countries where the Commercial Service does not maintain offices.

The International Poultry Expo, sponsored by the US Poultry & Egg Association, and the International Feed Expo, sponsored by the American Feed Industry Association, are the world's largest trade shows directed at the poultry and feed sectors.
