Sweden's dairy production decreases while livestock slaughtering rises in January 2006

 

 

Diary product output in Sweden has decreased by 1.3 percent in January 2006, according to the Swedish Board of Agriculture.

 

Total production of dairy products for January 2006 is estimated at 103,000 tonnes, a decline from the 106,000 tonnes registered for January 2005.

 

Some 69,600 heads of cattle were slaughtered in January 2006 in Sweden, an increase of 9.9 percent year on year. A total of 251,800 pigs were slaughtered for the same period, a 0.6 percent increase year on year.
