Vietnam's Northern Province reports blue ear recurrence

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development's Animal Health Department said that blue ear has reoccurred in Vietnam's northern province of Dien Bien, attacking pig herds in 11 communes in Dien Bien district.

The disease affected 626 pigs, of which 110 already died, the department said, noting that the disease appears only in Dien Bien province, the department added.

Meanwhile, Vietnam completely controls the bird flu disease to protect the country's poultry flocks.

The northern province of Ha Nam is the only local where the foot-and-mouth disease reoccurs, the department noted.
