China's grain planting area to rise moderately

 
 

China's grain planting area will continue to rise moderately, the Ministry of Agriculture (MOA) forecasted.

 

Meanwhile, oilseed and cottonne acreage will keep stable, the ministry said.

 

According to the MOA, the intended grain planting area this year will hold at more than 107 million hectares, up 567,000 from over last year. The planting area of high-yield crops such as corn, potatoes and rice will respectively increase by 667,000 hectares, 367,000 hectares and 93,000 hectares, while soy and spring wheat area will decrease.
