VIV Asia 2009 proved to be a success, as 568 exhibitors from 41 countries welcomed 20,831 visitors who rated the exhibition with an all-time high of 8.1.

Of the exhibitors, 47 percent came from overseas while the remaining 53 percent were from Thailand. No fewer than 3,402 trade professionals attended the VIV Asia 2009 Conferences and Seminars.

The special theme ''Eggs!'' and the publication of ''The Eggtrack'' proved to be successfully, and Aqua VIV Asia's first edition was well attended by Asia-Pacific's aqua specialists.

''We saw a strong selection of innovations for poultry, pigs and aquaculture which contributed to the innovative buzz that was present at VIV Asia 2009,'' said Project Manager Ruwan Berculo.

Despite the economic downturn, VIV Asia attracted trade professionals with serious buying power. Exhibitors received good business results and rated VIV Asia 2009 with a 7.7, showing confidence in the potential of the animal protein industry in the near future.

VIV Asia 2011 currently has a staggering number of 80 companies which had made on-site reconfirmations for participation.
