South Korea to support soy exports
The government of South Korea said it will provide support for the export of traditional soy products.
The Agricultural Ministry said the measure will help lessen the surplus of soy on the Korean market and solidify the basis for exporting domestic agricultural products.
Consequently, the government will provide support for up to 25 percent of the standard packaging and shipping fees for exporters of traditional soy products including soy sauce, soybean paste and fermented soybeans.
Last year, South Korea exported nearly 18-thousand tonnes of soy products worth a total of US$29 million.
