Russia's February meat output up 1.2 percent on-year

Russian meat output was up 3.7 percent on the year to around 500,000 tonnes live weight equivalent in February, while milk production was flat on the year at 1.8 million tonnes, Prime-Tass news agency reported Friday (Mar 24).

Egg production stood at 2.6 billion, up 4.7 percent on the year.

In 2005, Russia's meat output declined 1.7 percent on the year to 7.6 million tonnes in live weight, while milk production was down 2.9 percent to 31 million tonnes.
