Norel has appointed a new distributor in the Philippines, Manila-based Brenntag Ingredients Inc, for the promotion of its organic trace minerals - Biomet and Glymet.

The activities of Brenntag in Philippines started in 2008 when Brenntag acquired Rhodia's chemical distribution operations in Southeast Asia and extended its global distribution network into the Asia Pacific Region.

The local team, dealing already with pigments, choline chloride and other ingredients for the feed industry, will focus on major feed mills and integrators. Brenntag will also approach other customers such as self-mixing farms, using a network of sub distributors based throughout the country.

Due to the geography of the Philippine archipelago, which consists of more than 7,000 islands, the feed market is very fragmented, with 700 companies in total. However, 10 of them represent 60% of the total capacity.
