Ukraine takes third-fourth place in global grain exports
In the recent five years, Ukraine confidently takes the third-fourth place in the world by grain exports, declared Leonid Kozachenko, President of the Ukrainian Agrarian Confederation.
Besides, Ukraine became the world leading country-exporter of sunflower oil. In 2012, the country will export nearly three million tonnes of the product. Also, in the current season the country will take the second position in the world by exports of corn and barley, said the expert.
However, in his opinion, the country's agriculture has much more opportunities compared to the present level. In 5 years, the Cabinet of Ministers planned significantly increase grain production, which will promote economic reforms and the situation of global markets, which depends on the population growth, said L. Kozachenko.
He added that the agriculture of Ukraine should receive at least US$60 billion of investments, of which approximately 70% - in the working capital. Besides, the industry needs to develop agricultural science and introduce its achievements, and develop the industrial education.
