Estonia's veal meat price up 20.5% on year

 

 

In the comparison of meat prices, the price of veal climbed the most on year in February, up 20.5% to EUR1.998 (US$2.65) per kilogramme, while on month, veal's purchase price climbed 7%, Statistics Estonia said.

 

The purchase price of pork was EUR1.662 (US$2.20) per kilogramme in February, which means a rise of 10.5% during the year and a fall of 3.4% on month.

 

The price of mutton and goat meat hiked 9.1% on year to EUR3.026 (US$4.01) per kilogramme. On month the growth was 9.6%.

 

In February producers bought 28,200 pigs, 2,000 head of cattle and 200 sheep and goats. Last year in the same month 26,900 pigs, 2,300 head of cattle and 2,300 sheep and goats were bought.
