Finland sends grains to Estonia for storage
Finland will bring to the Estonian Muuga Harbour 60,000 tonnes of grain of the country's strategic reserve.
Tallinna Sadam (Port of Tallinn) said that the carriage of grain from Finland to Muuga began a few weeks ago. According to earlier information, Finland will bring a part of its strategic grain reserve to Estonia because Finland's own storage capacity is exhausted.
Ain Kaljurand, board chairman of Tallinna Sadam, said that the Muuga grain elevator made it possible to store a total of 300,000 tonnes of grain and the elevator had sufficient free capacity at the moment.
The port has offered the opportunity of using the grain elevator to the Kazakhs who are looking for grain export opportunities.
