Taiwan's Great Wall Buys 60,000 MT Corn From Cargill
Taiwan's Great Wall Enterprise Co. bought 60,000 metric tons of U.S. corn in a Friday tender from U.S. trading house Cargill Inc., said a Taipei-based trader who received the tender results.
Great Wall, which is an alliance of corn buyers, bought 43,200 tons at a freight price of $189.14/ton, cost and freight basis, said the trader.
The remaining 16,760 tons of corn was bought at a premium of 170.96 cents a bushel over the Chicago Board of Trade's July contract, she added.
Cargill has the option of delivering the corn from the U.S. Gulf or Pacific Northwest, said the trader.
Great Wall asked for bids for April 25-May 9 shipment ex U.S. Gulf and May 10-24 shipment ex Pacific Northwest.
