Vietnam province reports pig deaths due to PRRS
Due to Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome (PRRS) virus infection, also known as blue ear disease, three districts in the central province of Nghe An, Vietnam have reported deaths of 383 pigs.
According to reports, the disease has already affected herds in Dien Kim and Dien Thai Communes of Dien Chau District; Quynh Thach, Quynh Van, and Quynh Xuan Communes in Quynh Luu District; and five communes in Yen Thanh District.
Dinh Viet Hong, deputy chairman of Nghe An People's Committee, had talks with animal health authorities in Dien Chau District. Hong urged the provincial Department of Animal Health to provide Dien Chau District with five million vaccine doses.
