Ukrainian poultry checks meet EU standards
Ukraine might be allowed to export poultry meat to EU countries in future as Ukraine's veterinary authorities are able to confirm poultry products safety, according to a report by the European Commission.
The European Commission believes that the Ukrainian veterinary service is able to ensure the safety of poultry products, chief of the State Veterinary and Phytosanitary Service of Ukraine, Ivan Bisyuk, said.
The European Commission had minor remarks on domestic poultry businesses that need to be resolved to obtain the right to export products to the EU. In 2010, experts with the European Commission's Directorate General for Health and Consumer Policy (DG SANCO) re-inspected Ukrainian producers of poultry products to consider a possibility for them to get the right to supply products to European markets.
