China Zhongpin invests US$6.3 million in pork plant's expansion
Chinese meat and food processing company Zhongpin Inc. has started a US$6.3 million expansion of a pork processing plant to boost production capacity by 35%.
The facility, located in the Chinese city of Anyang, makes chilled pork products. The company said the expansion should help meet an increased demand for pork products in northern China.
Zhongpin said the four-month expansion is expected to be complete by July. Production is expected to continue as usual during the project.
