Below is an abstract of the report:

China corn prices in February stable in light trade

China's corn prices were stable in light trading throughout February. Most farmers suspended sales in the weeks before the Spring Festival but transactions are expected to pick up in mid-March. The recurrence of the bird flu in South-East Asia could prompt farmers in China to postpone stocking their farm animal inventory. Given this prospect, demand for corn by feed, livestock and poultry industries would not pick up strongly.

This 2-page report also includes:

1.            Corn sales during the Spring Festival

2.            Procurement of corn in the North-east

3.            Fall in farm inventory affects corn demand

4.            Corn exports in 2005
