Slower methionine price falls in China
Prices of methionine moved lower during the week ending March 23.
Feed producers continued to stay prudent with methionine purchases as the hog market weakened further. Methionine price slid further, albeit at a slower pace.
Liquid methionine* quotes in the general market were mainly in the range of RMB21.50-22.50/kg.
With feed demand slow due to limited animal inventories, while supply is expected to increase during Q2, methionine market is poised to remain soft.
