Argentina exchange raises corn forecast to 20.4 million tonnes
The Rosario Grain Exchange increased its forecast for Argentina's 2009-10 corn production to 20.4 million tonnes Tuesday (March 23), up from the 19.7 million tonnes previously forecast.
Yields in Santa Fe, Cordoba and Buenos Aires province were higher than initially expected, increasing production prospects, the exchange said.
The Rosario Exchange left its forecast for soy production unchanged at 52.5 million tonnes, but said that the estimate will likely be changed as the harvest progresses.
