Pakistani traders protest hike in chicken prices

Poultry dealers of the Timergra district in Pakistan held a protest demonstration on Monday (Mar 22) against increase in chicken prices.

They demanded reduction in the rate in order to save the poultry industry from collapse.

Later, speaking at a news conference, leaders of the Poultry Association's Malakand division and representatives of poultry farms, Mohammad Zarin, Gul Rahim, Kalimullah, Azizullah, Salahuddin and Badshah Zada, claimed that companies dealing in poultry had been fleecing small dealers for the last one year but there was no one to check them.

They called upon higher authorities to take notice of the matter and decrease the rate of chicken.
