Cargill building sixth mill in Vietnam

Cargill Vietnam, a US agricultural company, began construction of its sixth animal feed mill in Vietnam in the Mekong delta province of Long An on Wednesday (Mar 22).

The mill, which will cost US$12 million, will have an annual capacity of 150,000 tonnes and bring the company's animal feed processing capacity in Vietnam to more than 700,000 tonnes a year.

Cargill Vietnam General Director Scott Ainslie said the country is a promising market for animal feed and that plans for more factories are in the pipeline.

Cargill Vietnam currently employs 400 workers and markets more than 100 animal feed categories. Its main products are pig feeds of Right Track Red, Right Track Gold, Superbloom, Profit Track and Prosow trademarks and fish feed of Aquaxcel trademark.

Besides animal feed production, the company is also involved in farm produce export and fertiliser import.
