ANZCO MD joins Beef + Lamb New Zealand board

Mark Clarkson, Managing director of ANZCO Foods Ltd, has been appointed to the Board of Beef + Lamb New Zealand.

Clarkson is one of two processor-exporter representatives nominated by the Meat Industry Association (MIA). His considerable industry knowledge and experience in both sheep and beef processing and marketing are especially valued by the board.

Clarkson was the general manager of Five Star Beef Limited, a 50-50 joint venture between Itoham and ANZCO, and also a council member of the MIA. Thereafter, he took on the role of CEO of ANZCO subsidiary, CMP Canterbury Ltd for 10 years. Since 2004, he joined ANZCO Foods Ltd as Managing Director.
 

In his years of experience, he built strong relationships with customers, employees, shareholders and farmers.

Beef + Lamb New Zealand board is represented by six farmer-elected members and two processor-exporter representatives of which Mr Clarkson is one and Craig Hickson of Progressive Meats is the other.
 

Clarkson replaces Keith Cooper, CEO of Silver Fern Farms, who had sat on the board since 2009.
