China's February soy imports soar 65% on-year

The soy imports of China in February totalled 3.83 million tonnes, 65% higher against last year but down 17% from last month, the General Administration of Customs said Wednesday (Mar 21).

Confirming data released earlier this month, the customs department said soy imports in the first two months totalled 8.44 million tonnes, up 13.2% from a year earlier.

China is the world's biggest importer of soy and gets most of its supplies from the US, Brazil and Argentina.
