Two new bird flu outbreaks in Vietnamese province

There have been two bird flu cases at duck breeding households in Vinh Hoa and Tan Xuan communes in Ba Tri district, the Mekong Delta province of Ben Tre on Mar. 19-20.

Ba Tri district is the only locality that has seen outbreaks of the bird flu for a week.

According to the Veterinary Department, bird flu was reported to have occurred in only 10 provinces during the past 21 consecutive days, including An Giang, Bac Lieu, Ben Tre, Can Tho, Dong Thap, Hau Giang, Tra Vinh, Vinh Long, Hai Duong and Hai Phong. Of the localities, no new outbreaks have reported in An Giang, Bac Lieu, Hai Duong and Vinh Long for 10 consecutive days.
