Kazakhstan not to impose grain export ban

Kazakhstan will not enforce grain exports ban, as the government is sure to be able to cover all requirements of the local market, and considers its own grain as highly lucrative, said Asylzhan Mamytbekov, Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, on March 16.

According to him, the domestic market is completely secured through at the expense of the state resources. And Kazakh grain producers will always sell their grain at the level ensuring the required profitability, said A. Mamytbekov.

Kazakhstan is among the largest countries-exporters of grains on the world market. In 2011, the country received the record harvest - nearly 27 million tonnes of grains in clean weight. Kazakhstan plans to export nearly 15 million tonnes of grains in 2011/12 MY.

According to preliminary estimations of Ministry of Agriculture, in the current year the general grain harvest will be total nearly 14-15 million tonnes.
