Perstorp introduces new mould inhibitor: ProSidâ„¢ MI 700
Press release
Feed additive producer Perstorp introduces ProSidâ„¢ MI 700, its latest innovation for mould inhibition.
Propionic acid is commonly used as a mould inhibitor for feed and grains, and its effectiveness for this purpose is well documented. Formulated with propionic acid and propionic acid glycerol esters, ProSidâ„¢ MI 700 provides high impact on yeast and mould.
The product is claimed to maintain nutritional value while killing all types of yeast and mould. Its low evaporation rate translates into conservative, long term effects and less odour.
As it is less corrosive than propionic acid, security in handling is improved and ADR (European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road) restrictions for transport and storage will not apply to its carriage.
The Perstorp Group produces specialty chemicals, with manufacturing units in 11 countries in Asia, Europe and North America. Its products are used in the aerospace, marine, coatings, chemicals, plastics, engineering and construction industries. They can also be found in automotive, agricultural feed, food, packaging, textile, paper and electronics applications.
